Five tips to have a successful public relations strategy:

1.      Make a list of 3 publications you'd like to see yourself in. Make sure those publications have the same audience as you. That means your ideal customers are reading these magazines.

Before contacting them, spend time reading their articles and really getting to know the publication. What are the common themes in these publications? Which segments do you think you'd be perfect for?⠀

2.      Study each publication's style, aesthetics, and editorial calendar. This will help you customize your pitch and make it extra relevant to them.

Depending on the publication, your pitch will be unique and highlight different aspects of your project.

3.      Be brief and concise with your pitch. Remember that editors receive a lot of emails and don’t have a lot of time.

Make a powerful intro with just two sentences summarizing everything that makes your project special. ⠀

4.       Get their attention with visuals. Apart from a timely and relevant story, the eyes of the editors will be attracted to stunning visuals. Invest in professional photography that will be great for your pitch, and you can reuse these visuals in many aspects of your marketing on social media, website, etc.

5.       Be patient, getting published may take time. There are many reasons why you are not getting an instant reply, and getting things to move forward can take time.

Sending a reminder after a couple of weeks is a good idea, but be mindful not to overwhelm them with lots of emails.⠀
